After a certified guide-training course, Yeshey has been taking guests to explore her beautiful district through its rich culture, villages and wide landscape.

“My name is Yeshey Lhaden, and I am from Bali, Katsho Gewog. My journey as a local guide began in 2016 when RSPN started a guide training course in Haa. With the support of RSPN, I received my certificate as a local guide, and since then, I have been working as a local guide.

“As a local guide, I have gained a lot of experience in the field through trekking and hiking. Among the many treks and hikes I have done, I especially enjoy the Panorama Hike and the Nub Tshonapata trek. “We local guides were the ones who came up with the idea of starting the Panorama Hike,” I often tell visitors. Along the way, we get beautiful views of the Haa Valley, the Rigsum (Three Mountains), and also visit a sacred monastery on the route. The Nub Tshonapata trek is one of the longest treks in Haa, where we can witness the rare white poppy, which grows only in Haa.

“Apart from these two activities, I also enjoy birding, which was supported by the Jigme Khesar Strict Nature Reserve (JKSNR). I am certified in a birding course that includes observing birds, butterflies, and other mammals.

“I would recommend the Panorama Hike because it is an easy and short hike that offers beautiful views of the Haa Valley and surrounding mountains. The hike is suitable for all age groups and allows tourists to experience the peaceful environment and scenic landscapes of Haa in a short time. The TBT Trek is recommended for tourists who enjoy adventure and cultural experiences. “This trek gives you a chance to experience the real Haa-its forests, highlands, and traditional villages,” I tell travelers. It offers stunning mountain views, fresh air, and a quiet environment away from crowds, making it ideal for those looking for a moderate challenge and an authentic trekking experience.”
