Ap Kinley’s homestay may look unassuming in the first glance but it is a small wonder to know that so much can be done and experienced in such a cozy place. Ap Kinley and his wife run their homestay like a well oiled engine. The food prepared here is both delicious and organic. They produce their own butter and cheese and maintain a small kitchen garden. The host is a good conversationalist and don’t forget to ask him about the shield and sword that hangs above on the wall. He also showed us an antique thangka that is believed to be from the 16th century from Tibet. Maybe you can also ask him to tell you the story about how his family came to possess it.
Even the Prime Minister of Bhutan, Lyoenchen Tshering Tobgay had graced this homestay. The rooms inside are clean and comfortable. The homestay is located just above the Dumcho bridge and near Lhakhang Karpo and Nagpo.
