Lama Kinley Dorji is a respected Koenyer (temple keeper) entrusted with the care of Rangtse Ney, one of the region’s most treasured sacred sites. In this role, he carries the profound responsibility of overseeing all religious activities connected to the Ney (sacred site), ensuring that its rituals and traditions are preserved and practiced with devotion and precision. His leadership extends to the organization and performance of the annual Tshechu, a significant religious festival that brings together monks, devotees, and the wider community in an expression of faith, culture, and collective harmony.
Under his guidance, Rangtse Ney continues to serve as a place of pilgrimage, reflection, and spiritual renewal. Kinley Dorji works closely with the monastic body in Haa to maintain their monastic traditions and teach younger monks.

“Rangtse Ney is a deeply sacred site of Guru Rinpoche, believed through oral history to be blessed with great spiritual power, where auspicious signs appeared and the surrounding Neys are regarded as places of profound bliss.”
It is believed to be the secret abode of Guru Rinpoche and Khandro Yeshey Tshogyel, who meditated at the site and left their imprints on the rocks inside the cave.
Today, Kinley Dorji stands as a dedicated guardian of religious heritage, bridging tradition and continuity. Through his leadership, the sacred legacy of Rangtse Ney and its Tshechu remains vibrant, meaningful, and deeply rooted in the spiritual life of the community.
